Today, The Digital Museum of U.S. Highway 50 is proud to welcome its first guest contributor!
Photographer and writer, Andy Romanoff explores travel, memory, landscape, and the poetry of the American road. Through short films, readings, and personal reflections, Romanoff traces the sometimes overlooked spaces between destinations: the faded towns, roadside encounters, desert highways, and fragments of memory that define the experience of travel once you leave the superhighways behind. In this film, he takes us along for a trip on Highway 50 and shares his impressions about driving it.
Andy is a fantastic writer and photographer, and a true road scholar. He has also written several articles about Highway 50 on his Substack, The Long View. Check them out below!
